Kurt sat on the bed while nurses did their work and then he was asked to remove his shirt and laid on the bed and he looked at Blaine, scared. One of the nurses, the one that stayed with them was about saying something. When they were in this room she constantly glared at Kurt and Blaine every time Kurt reached for his boyfriend or Blaine was too close.
Cooper looked at the nurse and rolled his eyes. “They’re together okay? Can you get over it and just treat him now? You’ll get flies in your mouth if it stays open like that.” He comically closed her mouth and sat down in the chair by the wall.
Blaine chuckled and held Kurt’s hand tightly, scared for him and the impending needles. “It’ll be okay. We won’t let them hurt you.”
“You’ll do great baby.” Blaine whispered back, his arm around Kurt’s shoulders, pulling him to his chest. “We’re here for you Kurt.” Cooper smiled back at them and got out of the car, opening the car door for Kurt. “Let’s get you better, Kurt.” Blaine smiled at his boyfriend, reassuring him with a light squeeze of the hand.
Kurt got out from the car and smiled lightly. ‘I’m going to have a tube in my arm that’ll lead close to my heart. It’s a scary idea. And it involves needles’ he frowned, taking Blaine’s hand.
“I won’t let go of your hand. You’ll be fine. I promise.” Blaine walked beside him, hand in hand, not caring that people stared. Cooper signed them all in and they waited in the waiting room. It wasn’t long until Kurt was called back and all 3 males headed back.
Kurt sat on the car a few seconds longer than was necessary. He bit his lip hard and tightened his fist on the seatbelt, looking at the hospital building. They managed to make Cooper give them the ride and it allowed Kurt sit on the back with Blaine and cuddle. ‘I’m scared’ he whispered into Blaine’s ear and closed his eyes.
Kurt leaned on Blaine when they sat on the bed. He was hot again and felt dizzy but he made boys lemonade and helped with minor stuff and he felt worn out already. ‘I’m fine. Are you tired?’
“A little.” Blaine yawned. “Are you?” Blaine rested his hand on Kurt’s cheek and kissed his lips softly.
’I want you to leave your hair, OK? I love it. Just use less hair gel not, hmm?’ he winked and wiped off his tears. ‘And don’t beat your brother’ Kurt giggled.
“Yeah listen to your boyfriend Blaine. Stop being mean to the man who’s bringing your shit in for you.” Blaine laughed. “I should help out then. I won’t shave my head or beat Cooper up.” He kissed Kurt’s forehead. “I better bring in my stuff.”
An hour and a half later, all of Blaine’s things were in the guest room. He would set up tomorrow, he thought. He hugged Cooper and Cooper hugged Kurt, and left to take the U-Haul back to the store. “So how are you feeling?” Blaine asked, wiping sweat off of his forehead with a towel and sipping some lemonade.
’No, no. Please. I would remember about my sickness every time I looked at you and this is just waste. I love your hair.’ he shook his head. ‘Just… Oh god. It hurts.’
Blaine nodded. “Okay…but I will do it if you’re that self concious about it sweetheart. It’s just hair. You’re more important to me.” Cooper chimed in. “Yeah, and imagine how much he’d save after taking hair gel from the equation.” Blaine popped him in the arm with his fist. “Ow! No fair! I don’t box!”
Kurt clutched to his chest and cried. ‘I’ll be just ugly’ he sniffled and tried to hid his face in Blaine’s shirt.
Blaine held him tightly and thought for a moment. “What if I shaved my head with you?” Cooper looked at him stunned. “What? It’s hot outside anyway.” He shrugged. “I hate seeing you like this.”
Blaine rested his hand on Kurt’s chest. “What is it, baby?” He looked into his eyes and furrowed his brow.
’I’ll lose all hair. I know sometimes it doesn’t happen but in my case it will. And I’ll be just ugly. What if you won’t want me?’
“What? Of course I’ll want you.” Blaine looked at Cooper and Cooper frowned. “Baby, I’m in love with you, not your hair.”
